That is a BRILLIANT scene. It just *feels* right. It’s hard to explain why – it just does. I wish PTA would make films more frequently.

I dig Aimee’s music, but I’ll always love her for singing on Rush’s “Time Stand Still”. An unlikely union, to be sure, but it worked wonderfully.

I’d just like to say I think your blog is very intelligent and well-written. I shall check in more frequently.

great post! i definitely think that anderson’s use of mann’s songs both as a springboard for the development of the film and as a moment of rupture complicate traditional notions of authorship. i cherish the soundtrack for magnolia and still to this day cannot believe that mann lost to phil collins at the academy awards!
