Since I often write about how music and music culture are used in movies, I thought it would also be fun to look at some music videos that pay homage to movies. If you’ve got some suggestions, please share!

I’ll give credit to the recent marathon showings on MTV for helping me remember these: Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” and “Bad” videos owe a lot to West Side Story.
(On another note, how unintentionally creepy is The Way You Make Me Feel? Skeezy.)
Also, Fountains of Wayne’s “Stacy’s Mom” and Fast Times At Ridgemont High.
The first thing that comes to my mind is Paula Abdul’s “Rush” video, which is a “remake” of Rebel Without a Cause. But, it’s bad. Oh so very bad.
