Preying on hipsters for sport has long been something the Internet has taken to near-Olympiad levels. Several Web sites are devoted to snickering at hipsters’ privilege, ironic detachment, and ennui, along with the coolness of their puppies and kittehs. Gawker closed 2009 trying to determine who was the hipster of the decade. And New York-based girl group Ménage à Twang sent up this generation of cool kids last year with ”Listen Sister, Don’t Date a Hipster.” The amusing, appropriately kitschy music video compliments the song’s satirical, pro-woman dress-down of hipster boys.
